Please note this toy is recommended from 3 years, I believe under close supervision it can be used from 14 months. But you should keep it away in a safe place and only take it out when you are going to sit and closely supervise your toddler under three while using it. I believe the fine motor skills your toddler will learn from this toy are fantastic but only under close supervision. If your toddler puts this needle or toy beads in his mouth you should stop playing with it and try again a few days later. Because of the long string I believe you should not leave a child over 3 with this toy either.

Darragh's Product of the Month!

Now that Darragh is 15 months I am constantly being asked what toys I give him and what his favourites are. One of both Darragh and my favourites are the string toys from Alex'¦'¦.

Darragh says "I love my String and Beep toy and String a Farm toy! They have 12 big wooden car and farm toys that I can thread onto the string using the big wooden 'needle'. I love to sit and thread all the cars and animals onto the thread and then take them all off and start again. When Mummy first gave me the toy I didn't know how to use it so Mummy helped me by holding the car or animal bead and I held the needle, Mummy then told me how to 'push' the needle through the hole and then told me to 'pull' the needle out the other side. It didn't take me long to learn, I am pretty clever, and now I can do it all by myself. You should have seen how excited Mummy got when I could do it all by myself, she was jumping around and clapping, it was really funny and made me feel so good!

Mummy is teaching me the colours of the cars as I thread them on and is teaching me how to count by saying 1'¦2'¦.3'¦. as I thread them on. When I play with the string a farm toy Mummy teaches me the animal's names and what sounds they make. I love this toy and it is really easy to take when Mummy and I go out. I love to sit in my chair and play with it while Mummy has a coffee at the cafe'. But remember, if you try and put the needle or the beads into your mouth to chew on your Mummy will probably pack the game away, that is what my Mummy does!"
